Learning Greek Sign Language
How do Sign Language courses take place and how long does it take to complete them?
- Courses are held both in class (for those living in Thessaloniki) and remotely throughout Greece and abroad. A team of specialized technicians is exclusively engaged in ensuring the smooth operation of both distance learning and the educational platforms of Greek Sign Language Center.
- Sign language learning is divided into 4 levels (ENG1, ENG2, ENG3, ENG4).
- The academic year at KENG lasts 8 months and includes two levels of Sign Language!
- In addition, KENG also has summer classes, where you can continue your studies in the summer!
- Upon successful completion of level 4, you can qualify to take the Sign Language proficiency certification examinations organised by the Federation of Deaf People of Greece.
- After obtaining the certification of proficiency, our students can continue in the interpreting classes of our school!
- Our students are also provided with free educational materials such as a sign language dictionary and homework practice materials!
Greek Sign Language School students have access to weekly practice materials to digest the material taught in the classes. The content is made available gradually each week to follow the flow of the course.
The practice material is available through a special e-learning platform adapted to the specificities of Sign Language and is provided free of charge to our students.
The Greek Sign Language Centre is the first school in Greece to implement in 2010 a comprehensive programme of modern distance learning, aiming to give the opportunity to anyone to learn Sign Language wherever they are!
Our many years of experience in distance learning ensures that the quality of our services is equally high, whether the courses are delivered face-to-face or remotely.

The Greek Sign Language Centre has expanded its activities beyond the teaching of Sign Language to adults, such as the development of special programmes for the teaching of Sign Language to children, the establishment of a studio for the production of accessible videos. See more in our services!
Course fees
The 2025-26 training period lasts 8 months and includes two levels of Sign Language.
It also includes the 4th ENG level
for those who want to participate in the proficiency exams!
